Laced focuses on elegant lines and clean compositions. Using my own photography shot exclusively at the Metropolitan Museum of Art I've made 5 beautiful pieces that reinvent catholic iconography for a modern day audience. Through roman statues and cross motifs it seeks to explore the gothic imagination with modern day applications. Lace is a material that speaks to me. There is so much beauty and elegance in the pattern. Yet the fabric was worn for mourning the dead in the past. This dichotomy of beauty and the disturbed grounds me in my practice and through this collection has solidified this aesthetic for my future collections to come.
